The Registrar of Voters performs all duties required by Connecticut General statutes governing voter registration, annual canvas of voters, primaries, elections, and compiling and retaining accurate statistical information for federal, state and municipal government agencies.
The responsibilities of the voting process and ensuring the rights of the electorate are fundamental in a democracy. The Registrars are also responsible for maintenance of the records of all registered voters, as well as supervision of primaries, special referenda and general elections.
