Certified Copies of Vital Records (Birth, Marriage, and Death records)

The town of occurrence maintains the original document, while the town of residence listed on the certificate receives a certified copy. You may obtain certified copies from either the town of occurrence or the town of residence as listed on the certificate.

The Town of North Branford retains birth, marriage and death certificates dating back to May 5, 1826.  Vital records prior to that date can be found in Branford.

Please note access to birth records less than 100 years old is restricted in Connecticut. If you are not the person listed on the certificate, please contact the town to see if you qualify for access.

Requests for certified copies of vital records can be done by mail or in person by appointment. Please complete the Vital Request form, mail form with check and self-addressed stamped envelope to the office or place in the Drop Box located up the front steps of Town Hall to your left.
